Health insurance costs are rising every day. While we
have been able to maintain a competitive level of coverage for
our employees at a reasonable cost, it has become increasingly
more difficult to do so.
Participating in the Wellness Program is one way to
detect early signs of health related problems. It combines
screening with education and follow-up to help employees improve
their health or maintain their current level of good health and
to prevent a relatively minor condition from becoming serious.
By correcting these health conditions and maintaining your good
health, each of you can help control our healthcare costs
now and in the future.
Molloy Wellness Co., has been hired to administer our
Wellness Program. They maintain the highest level of
confidentiality and professionalism while conducting the
screening and during any follow-up contacts.
None of your personal health information is given to
any person at Manatts and there are no tests for any kind of
drugs.
Instead, Molloy Wellness Company works one-on-one with
employees to guide him or her to their best possible health.
In the interests of employee health, quality of life, and
health insurance costs, Manatts and affiliated companies will
begin implementing a major change in the Group Health Plan.
Beginning in January 2003, the company
contribution for health insurance will be 75% of the premium
cost.
An
employee can earn an additional 5% contribution, or 80% total,
by participating in the wellness screening the previous year.
For example, if an employee participates in Wellness during
2002, he (she) will be eligible to receive an 80% contribution
during 2003. If an employee’s spouse is covered under Manatts
Group Health Plan, both the employee and the spouse must
participate in the Wellness to qualify for the additional 5%.
Currently the company contribution is 80% of the premium
costs whether you participate in the wellness screening or not.

costs for both participation and non-participation in the
Wellness Program:

To
make it easier for everyone to participate, there will be
several dates set up for screenings, including the addition of
some locations having fall and Saturday dates.
We will be notifying all employees of specific dates as
we schedule them.
The basic health screening will also be provided at
company expense for employees not covered by Manatts Group
Health Plan. Any
additional tests (i.e.: mammogram, prostate, full blood work-up)
will be at the non-covered employee’s expense.

FLU
SHOTS

Flu shots will
be available again this year for Manatt employees and spouses
free of charge. We
have set up tentative dates for each clinic but there is a
possibility the vaccine will be late arriving.
If this does happen, we will be rescheduling for a later
date. A payroll
stuffer will be sent out to let you know when it’s necessary
to sign up for a shot. At
this time, the clinics listed to the left are scheduled:
