On July 27th of this season the portable
concrete plant, using the Hetzel drum, located at the Poweshiek
County V-18 project set a new Manatt record for the number of
yards produced from this plant.
The record, set in 1993, had been 3000 yards.
On this summer day in late July, a 3500 cubic yard
production was reached.
Along with that record, John (Ponch) Lee’s paving crew
also surpassed the record for the distance paved with over 7500
feet being laid.
Even though everything ran as close to perfect as it
could, it was quite an accomplishment for both crews.
Many people were involved in the success of this day.
At the plant were Steve Naderman, Josh Krier, Kevin
Champlin and quality control technician, Joni Linder.
On the grade, all of Ponch’s team must be commended for
a job well done, along with project manager, Graham Cuninghame.
Many thanks to the trucking department, Elmer, Dwight and
Bruce for delivering all the material needed in a very timely
fashion. This
accomplishment could not have been realized without everyone’s
help and hard work.
