General Information

Employees can select from several pre-selected costs, such as group health insurance premiums, unreimbursed medical expenses and dependent care to pay for these costs with pre-tax dollars. If an employee is working at least 1000 hours per year, they are eligible to participate in the plan. All eligible employees must enroll on January 1st.

Newly hired employees are eligible January 1st or July 1st following 1000 hours of employment. If a new employee does not reach 1000 hours before layoff, but returns to work the following season and has 1000 hours (total) by July 1st, the employee will be eligible to enroll in the Cafeteria/Flex Plan as of July 1st. Thereafter, a new enrollment form must be completed by January 1st for the calendar year.  

Employees may elect to have additional gross pay withheld from their paycheck to cover other cafeteria commitments during the layoff period.

For the purpose of the cafeteria plan, "continuous employment" includes lay off time for full time seasonal employees.

Manatt's Inc. will put $12.00 per month ($144.00 per year) for each employee to place into the Cafeteria Plan/ Flex account for any unreimbursed medical expenses. These funds could provide for dental or eye exams or preventive care, or could be used to help fund insurance premiums for either dental or vision care. Manatt’s will give you $200 per month for eligible employees who are included on their spouse’s group health plan.

All claims for the previous calendar year must be submitted by March 1 of the following year.
